An extremely essential book
I consider this book one of the most important and helpful ones that has been written in the very wide and crowded topic of management. This book should turn into a timeless, must-read reference for many people all over the world: 1) It provides a thorough, solid and simple conceptual model for making people decisions; 2) It gives enough empirical and theoretical evidence to convincingly back up its recommendations; and 3) It is full of extremely practical advice to quickly improve the quality of decision making on a very crucial dimension of most organizations' performance. When I was reading it, I found myself revisiting many of the people decisions I had made, or I participated in, as an international consultant, as a private equity principal, as a business person and as, simply, a husband, a father and a friend.
